Behaviour change: A Community Approach

Well developed behaviour change strategies are a powerful tool in engaging and empowering communities to foster long term behavioural change.

Community partnership approaches to behaviour change were a hot topic at the 2011 World Social Marketing Conference in Dublin. At Atlas, we’ve been doing that for a while, across the health, environmental and non-profit sector in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

We’ve distilled contemporary best-practise in this field, our experience and a range of case-studies into a one day workshop.

Over the day, we will:

  • demonstrate what effective behaviour change is and in not,
  • differentiate between changing behaviour and raising awareness
  • step you through the four key approaches to changing behaviour
  • cover the key elements of effective behaviour change
  • step you through the planning and development stages of community partnership based social marketing and behaviour change
  • explore a range of behaviour change case-studies
  • send you on your way with all the tools required to build sustainable change projects with tangible and measurable impacts

Who should attend?

Those looking to change environmental and health behaviours, engage with citizens and stakeholders, build community resiliance and social capital or develop a community partnership change project.
