Toi te Ora Public Health

I just wanted to say thank you for making our social marketing workshop such a success. I thought it was pitched just at the right level for our organisation and those who attended have gained a good understanding of what social marketing is (and isnt!), and how it can be applied to their work.

Developing & implementing a social marketing strategy

Atlas worked with Toi Te Ora (an SHA equivalent public health organisation based in New Zealand) to develop and implement a strategic social marketing framework appropriate for the organisation’s objectives and public health remit.

Stage 1 involved working with senior management to establish and overcome internal barriers to this approach. Initially, we reviewed Toi Te Ora’s Service Plan identifying opportunities for a change in focus – both in the short and longer term.

Stage 2 was the execution of our change strategy which followed a two-pronged approach; one focussed on internal stakeholders and incorporating intensive organisation-wide training and development and secondly a new external communications strategy which would incorporate the creation and design of a range of strategic communications resources and a new organisation intranet and external website.

Atlas developed and delivered a three-day organisation-wide social marketing seminar with subject-specific speakers, case-studies and break-out strategy workshops where participants brain stormed and workshopped the application of social marketing tools and techniques and developed a workplan.

We also project managed the procurement of a local marketing and communications and web development company to deliver the second part of our strategy.

All of the above were delivered within a six week timeframe due to funding deadlines.
